Overview
Stock GPS is a free iOS app that provides after-close stock screening, daily market routes, ticker analysis, and educational strategy ideas. We designed Stock GPS to work without requiring users to create a visible account or provide personal profile information.
Information We Collect
Stock GPS does not ask you to provide your name, email address, phone number, brokerage credentials, payment information, or portfolio holdings for the current MVP experience.
The app may use anonymous Firebase Authentication in the background to protect backend access. This creates a random anonymous app user identifier, but it does not require you to sign up or reveal your identity.
App Security and Device Signals
Stock GPS uses Firebase App Check with Apple's App Attest technology to help verify that requests are coming from a legitimate installation of the app. Firebase and Apple may process technical device or app integrity signals for abuse prevention and security.
Market Data and App Content
Stock GPS retrieves market data, chart data, company profiles, fundamentals, and generated scan results from backend services. Vendor API keys are stored server-side and are not included in the iOS app.
Market data may be provided by Polygon/Massive and Financial Modeling Prep. Their terms may apply to market data shown in the app. You can review their terms at polygon.io/terms and Financial Modeling Prep Terms of Service.
How We Use Information
We use app and backend data to load daily scans, protect the backend from abuse, improve app reliability, troubleshoot errors, and provide ticker analysis requested by the user.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
The current MVP does not sell personal information, does not use third-party advertising networks, and does not track users across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.
Data Sharing
We may share limited technical data with service providers that operate the app backend, authentication, app integrity, storage, hosting, crash diagnostics, or market data services. These providers process data to help us operate Stock GPS.
